Kehai Engine

Attendance where checking in needs you to actually be in the room: a rotating signed QR code plus a location check.

  • Started as a campus club's recruitment task, then kept growing
  • 185 server tests and 56 layout tests
  • Installable phone app in English and Japanese

MetroFlow

A Tokyo transit planner. It routes door to door and marks every estimate as an estimate.

  • Routes across 2,105 stations, with A* for the fastest trip and Dijkstra for the other modes
  • Bike-share, buses, flights and weather alerts alongside the trains
  • 185 checks across 7 test suites
The code is private until the contest ends.

About

I’m a CS undergraduate at SRMIST in Chennai, specialising in Software Engineering. I’m interested in what goes into building good software — the architecture, the decisions behind it, and the details that make it reliable.

So far, I’ve worked on web applications, real-time systems, and tools designed to solve practical problems. I enjoy working across the stack, trying out unfamiliar technologies, and figuring out how things work beyond just getting them to run.

Outside of software, I’m learning Japanese through the JLPT track and currently preparing for N3, while working towards an opportunity to study at Waseda University in Tokyo. Japan and Japanese aesthetics are also a big influence on my projects, shaping the ideas I explore and the way I approach design.

I’m focused on building better software, strengthening my engineering skills, and taking on projects that push me to learn something new.

Japan

Where it comes from

It started with

  • Stories

    Anime, manga, and films

I’m drawn to Japanese storytelling, from the worlds and characters in anime and manga to the films that tell quieter, more grounded stories.

  • Music

    Japanese music

Japanese music has been a constant part of my interest in the culture, from the songs I discover through anime to artists and genres I find on my own.

  • Myth

    Shinto, folklore, and mythology

I’m interested in Japanese mythology, the kami of Shinto, and the folklore behind them. Kagutsuchi, the kami of fire, even inspired the name of one of my software projects.

What keeps me here

  • Language

    Learning Japanese

I’m studying Japanese through the JLPT track and currently preparing for N3, working on grammar, vocabulary, kanji, and the ability to understand the language beyond translations.

  • Places

    Architecture and landscapes

I’m drawn to the contrast between Tokyo’s dense streets and city lights, traditional architecture, and quieter landscapes. These visual influences often find their way into my projects and design choices.

  • Way of life

    Everyday culture and traditions

Beyond the media, I’m curious about everyday life in Japan — its customs, social norms, seasonal traditions, and the small details that make a place feel different from home.

I haven’t been yet. I’m working towards an opportunity to study at Waseda, which would be my first time there.
